One of my clients,a 92 year old Athlete,has been elected to the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame,and he wants to hear as well as he can when he attends the ceremony and event.We ordered a new Hearing Aid for him,in an attempt to make his anticipated experience enjoyable.
Another Client came in, and was elated to find that his Union Contracted Provider,will pay for his Hearing Aids. He is a Heavy Equipment Operator.
Another Client came in, a 92 year old Real Estate Broker,who has a real severe hearing loss, and although he is very conservative in spending money, realizes that he needs help. The new Hearing Loss Test, revealed that his hearing has gotten worse, and he is going to have to have more power.
We took impressions,and ordered custom earmolds for him, so he can try Power BTE Hearing Aids.
A Stranger,dropped in the office, because his hearing aids weren't working, and we discovered it was because there was some type of obstruction in the tubing which prevented the speech sounds from traveling through,so that the Hearing Aid User could understand the spoken word correctly.
At the end of the day, a Hearing Aid Dispenser has to recap how many People he has helped.
Some situations and circumstances, involve money, and some don't.
You can't be in this business, and its supposed to be a business, to make money.
You just have to enjoy helping People, and hope that because of the way you treat People, and that you are not trying to rip them off, that you can manage to pay the rent and perhaps earn a living.
The longer I am in the Business, the more I am convinced, all the Products and Services, involved with the Dispensing of Hearing Aids, should be provided under Social Security or some other type of Provider Program.
The Fitting of Hearing Aids, should not be a for-Profit businesss.
And I am a Conservative Republican.
