HEARING AIDS-CUSTOM EAR MOLDS-TO KEEP OR NOT TO KEEP-ORDERED TO REPLACE LOST HEARING AIDS & EAR MOLD
|
Apr 26, 2008 Hearing Aids complaint |
A wonderful 90 year old Client, now residing in an expensive Assistive Living facility, in Fountain Valley,Ca., called us because he thought he lost his BTE (Behind-the-Ear) Hearing Aids, which are attached to Custom-made Ear Molds, and consequently both, the attached Hearing Aids, and the Earmolds, have to be replaced.
As usual, the Hearing Aids were found by the Cleaning People, that visit and clean his apartment, once a month.
He called immediately, and cancelled his order for new Earmolds.
The new Earmolds were already made and enroute to our Office, since the only way the order can be cancelled is within 24 Hours.
When the new Earmolds arrived, we called the Client and asked him if he wanted to buy the new Earmolds, even though He had recovered his lost Hearing Aids and Earmolds.
Again, he asked what the price of the new Earmolds was, and being very conservative, even though he has a lot of money, he said he didn't want the new Earmolds.
When I explained the advantages of keeping the new Earmolds, he still insisted on canceling the order.
I informed him that we would no longer be at his "Beck and Call" if he didn't accept the new Earmolds,he still insisted on not accepting and paying for the new Earmolds.
He later called back and said he wanted to keep the new Earmolds.
The benefits of accepting the new Earmolds are that they fit his ears better and will provide better performance, even when used in conjunction with his older existing Hearing Aids.
He will now have, a spare set of Earmolds, that he can save, or use now, and if he ever again loses his existing Hearing Aids, he will be able to borrow a set of Hearing Aids to use with his extra set of Earmolds.
The Manufacturer of the Earmolds, will not have to eat the products, we will be compensated for our services, and the Hearing Aid User (Our Client) will be in a more secure and better position, to ensure that he will never be in a situation where he won't be able to understand Speech.
