I have spent the last 2 days attending the training sessions of 2 competing Manufacturers.
Both Manufacturers, and I am sure all the other Hearing Aid Manufacturers, are engaged in providing the most complicated and sophisticated software to programming their hearing aids, for the hearing impaired.
The features, and benefits, as presented, are without question, the products of the imagination of those engaged in creating features and benefits of hearing aids, as applied to hearing aid users.
The problem with all the sophistication available, is that the Hearing Impaired, the User, is not receptive to all the options available.
The Hearing Aid User, only wants to be able to understand speech, as it is spoken, in most situations, and evironments.
One of the problems in the Hearing Aid Industry is that there is such a diversity of Needs, and Wants, in the Client Base, that it is almost impossible to provide a product for most People.
The amount of features and options available, is amazing.
The basic premise is: The need for a particular level of Hearing Aid is dependent upon the Individual with the unique hearing loss.
Every hearing loss requires a differnent response and product.
There is no: 1 Hearing Aid fits all Needs.
Integrity requires that the Hearing Aid Dispenser pursues all potential avenues of help.
Unfortunately, there is a cost factor involved with providing more features.
In any event, the Hearing Aid Prospect, or User, should pursue all available options and alternatives.
Hearing Aids are a commodity, the Professional Services, are not.
Find someone you feel comfortable with before you buy a Hearing Aid.
