When you attempt to establish a reasonable geographical range or distance, as to how far People will travel for Competence,and Customer Satisfaction, in the Hearing Aid Business, primarily because most Clients are Seniors, and I mean real Seniors, those in their 80s and 90s, you figure that the distance they will travel is about a 6 mile radius from your office.
Thats in a Metropolitan Area, like Los Angeles County and Orange County.
In California, maybe because of the density of the vehicles on the street, Seniors feel insecure if they drive more than 6 miles.
It is encouraging, in a sense, when someone will drive 100 miles, to obtain Hearing Aids, based on the recommendation of a Friend or Business Associate.
That happened to us, more than once.
This week, a Guy who was a Client of HEARx, primarily because he lost one of his Hearing Aids, and felt he needed replacements, since the original Aids were about 5 years old, called our Office and Spoke to us about coming down to Huntington Beach to buy new New Hearing Aids.
I didn't realize he lived in Sacramento and worked in Bakersfield.
He was referred to us by one of our existing Clients.
He wasn't concerned with price.
He wanted expertise, and experience.
We tested him and made our recommendations, and without his asking or suggesting, we gave him an additonal $200 Discount, below our already discounted price.
He was happy, we are happy, and we'll see what happens.
Its encouraging when as a Hearing Aid Dispenser, you experience something like this.
You feel that perhaps what you believe in does pay off.
